1. Visit the Zvartnots Temple

This amazing temple is also known as the church of the guardian angel or the celestial angel. Be prepared to take amazing pictures of the unique and very detailed architecture of the temple that was built back in the 7th century.2. Drive down to Tatev Monastery

All the way at the south eastern side of Armenia, you will find a monastery that is considered an architectural wonder that dates back to the 9th century, surrounded by the Orotan River that runs through the village.  The monastery doubled as an educational and spiritual center during the middle ages and is a pretty historic location.

3. Head to the Etchmiadzin Cathedral

Once you reach the city of Vagharshapat, you will be greeted with the cathedral that dates back to the 4th century. This church is so historic its actually one of the UNESCO heritage sites for being one of the most ancient Christian cathedrals in the world.

4. Indulge in the local delicacies

Enjoy a variety of local cuisines that can be found in many restaurants such as Morash which is a dish comprising of shredded chicken mixed with green peas, Kufta which is handmade sausage beef, grains and sautéed mushrooms, And the very popular Lavash, which is a thin layer of flat chewy bread that’s made from flour, salt and water and baked in an underground Tonir, earth oven.

5. Chill out at Yerevan

You can’t visit Armenia without spending some time in the beautiful capital city of Yerevan, and visit all the museums, cafes, the zoo and many other attractions that cater to everyone’s needs and interests.
